• Marwan Khoury (Arabic: مروان خوري) is a Lebanese artist. He is a singer, writer, composer and arranger for Rotana Records. His compositions are performed by some of the most appreciated artists in the Arab world such as Fadl Shaker, Sherine, Saber El Roubai, Carole Samaha, Asalah Nasri, Latifa, Melhem Zein, Najwa Karam, Madeleine Matar, Majida El Roumi, Cheb Mami, Talal Salameh and Abed Al Majeed Abdallah.

  In 1986, Marwan enrolled at the Université Saint-Esprit de Kaslik (USEK) in Lebanon where he studied piano and harmony. During his university years, he won a prize in a music composition contest. The award was presented to the singer by former Lebanese President Amin Gemayel in the following year. In 1988, Marwan produced his very first album Asak Habibi depending solely on himself in writing the lyrics and composing the songs, and of course producing it. The album was not that big of a big hit unfortunately.
  
  Marwan started a new phase in his life in 1989, but not as a singer. He performed in various variety shows, such as Aghani Aghani and Studio el fan, playing on the keyboard. He continued as a keyboard player until 1996 and played with many famous Lebanese bands; like Sabah's band. But during that period, Marwan wrote and sang the single, Fik Yamma Balak. It was released in 1994 and established him as a talented singer. He then went on to lead Wael Kfoury's band as well as other famous Lebanese singers. This gave Khoury the chance to see the world and go on tour as a conductor. In 1997 he wrote, composed and performed his second single Lasbor Ala Wela. It was not until 1999 however that Marwan finally became known in the music industry as a writer/composer. He came up with two hit songs for Nawal Al-Zoughbi; "Tia" and "Dalouna." Then the year 2001 came along and with it Marwan launched his first official album Khayal El-Omer. The very next year, Khoury shot his first video clip "Ya Shog" with director Bassem Christo. Throughout his career Marwan has twice been awarded the prestigious Murex D'Or. First in 2003, when the singer got his first recognition as a talented composer. And then in 2004, the year he was awarded one more Murex D’Or for Best Complete Artist (singer, composer, music video, song and album).
  
  
  In 2005, Marwan reached his milestone. He landed a five-year contract with the major production company, Rotana Records. He also released hit first major album Kil Alasaed in May. The album and the title song were a big hit and their popularity spread fast. It was this album that actually made Marwan famous in the Arab world and in Egypt. To ensure the success he had achieved, Marwan released a clip for the title song of his album in the following month. The video was directed by Claude Khoury.
